We build the infrastructure,
software and quiet systems
that modern companies run on.

TIPS AND TOEZ LIMITED is a senior technology practice. We design, build and operate the back-of-house engineering that keeps products dependable, secure and ready to grow — without theatre, without lock-in.

§ 01 — The Practice

An engineering studio, not an agency.

TIPS AND TOEZ LIMITED operates as a small, senior practice. We accept a deliberately limited number of engagements each quarter so that every project receives the attention of engineers who have spent years carrying production systems.

Our remit covers the full software lifecycle: discovery, architecture, build, release, security, observability and long-term operation. We work as an extension of internal teams, not as a parallel one — handing over clean code, documentation and runbooks that outlive the engagement.

  • Engineering-led
  • Documented decisions
  • Vendor-neutral
  • Operational ownership

§ 02 — Capabilities

Eight disciplines, one accountable team.

Disciplines are combined to suit each engagement. Most clients work with us across three to five at any one time.

  1. 01

    Software Development

Custom backends, APIs, data pipelines and product features engineered for longevity.

  2. 02

    Web Development

Performant, accessible, search-optimised web experiences built on modern frameworks.

  3. 03

    Cloud Solutions

AWS, Azure and GCP architecture, migration, FinOps and infrastructure-as-code.

  4. 04

    Cybersecurity

Threat modelling, hardening, identity, secrets management and incident readiness.

  5. 05

    IT Consulting

Architecture reviews, technology selection and engineering due diligence.

  6. 06

    Digital Transformation

Replatforming, process automation and measurable operational change.

  7. 07

    System Integration

ERPs, CRMs, payment rails and data systems unified through resilient interfaces.

  8. 08

    Technical Support

Managed operations, observability and 24/7 incident response for critical workloads.

§ 03 — Stack

A working knowledge of the entire stack.

We are polyglot by design. The technologies below represent tools we use in production today, not a marketing inventory.

§ 04 — Why Us

Predictable engineering, on the record.

The qualities below are commitments — not aspirations. They are written into our engagement letters and audited at each review cycle.

  • Senior by default

No junior pyramids. Every engagement is staffed with engineers who have shipped production systems at scale.

  • Written commitments

Architecture decisions, scope and acceptance criteria are documented before code is written.

  • Operational ownership

We carry the pager for what we ship. Reliability is engineered in, not bolted on.

  • Vendor-neutral advice

We have no reseller commissions. Recommendations are made strictly on technical and commercial merit.

§ 05 — Method

Four phases. Documented. Repeatable. Measurable.

  1. I

    Discover

Stakeholder interviews, system mapping and risk assessment to establish a shared, evidence-based brief.

  2. II

    Architect

Reference architecture, technology selection, capacity model and a delivery plan agreed in writing.

  3. III

    Build

Small, senior teams shipping in short cycles against transparent, measurable milestones.

  4. IV

    Operate

Observability, on-call, cost control and continuous improvement once the system is live.

§ 06 — Industries

Where our work tends to live.

We choose sectors with non-trivial engineering — where reliability, compliance and real-world consequence make the work worth doing well.

  • 01Financial Services
  • 02Healthcare & Life Sciences
  • 03E-commerce & Retail
  • 04Logistics & Mobility
  • 05SaaS & Platforms
  • 06Public Sector
  • 07Manufacturing & Industry
  • 08Media & Telecommunications

§ 07 — Outcomes

Outcomes our clients typically observe.

−42%

Mean time to recovery after migration to managed observability.

3.1×

Median deployment frequency once delivery pipelines are stabilised.

99.98%

Steady-state availability across platforms we operate.

28%

Average cloud spend reduction after architectural review.

§ 08 — Practice

A practice organised around expertise, not job titles.

Engineers move across disciplines as the work requires. Each engagement is led by a principal who is accountable end-to-end.

  • 01

    Platform Engineering

Distributed systems, Kubernetes, multi-region architecture, performance at scale.

  • 02

    Application Engineering

Product-grade backends, web and mobile clients, design-system fluency.

  • 03

    Security Engineering

AppSec, cloud security, identity, compliance evidence and incident response.

  • 04

    Data & AI

Warehousing, real-time pipelines, evaluation-driven machine learning systems.

§ 09 — Security & Reliability

Resilience is a default, not an upgrade.

  • Defence in depth

Identity, network, application and data controls layered with continuous verification.

  • Auditable change

Infrastructure-as-code, signed releases, immutable images and reviewed migrations.

  • Continuity

Tested backups, multi-region failover and documented recovery objectives.

  • Compliance alignment

SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA and PCI-DSS readiness woven into delivery.

§ 10 — FAQ

Common questions, answered plainly.

01

What kind of organisations do you work with?

We work with growing technology companies, regulated enterprises, public-sector teams and product-led startups. Engagements range from a single specialist engineer to a full multidisciplinary delivery team.
02

Do you build software from scratch or improve existing systems?

Both. A significant share of our work involves modernising legacy systems, migrating workloads to the cloud and stabilising platforms that have outgrown their original architecture.
03

Which technologies does the practice use?

We are a polyglot team. Day to day we work across TypeScript, Go, Python, Rust and Java, on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, with Kubernetes, Terraform and modern data platforms.
04

How are projects priced?

Engagements are scoped individually. Most clients choose fixed monthly capacity for ongoing platforms; well-defined delivery work is quoted as a fixed milestone with clear acceptance criteria.
05

Can you support production systems after launch?

Yes. Long-term operational support — including SLAs, on-call rotations and incident response — is a core part of the practice, not an afterthought.

§ 11 — Contact

Begin a conversation.

Engagements begin with a written brief and a short technical conversation. Reach the practice using the details opposite.
